Exercise is known as the most important element for preventative health. However, exercise is often practiced incorrectly, which can actually lead to poorer health. Our Martial Art system applies modern science and technology to promote optimum health and fitness as well as longevity through the use of proper exercise. Balanced movements involving equal amounts of left and right side training, contra-lateral movement, and understanding how to adjust frequency, duration, and intensity of training all are part of the our system. Aerobic exercise helps to stimulate the circulatory system - increasing blood flow and improving cardiovascular health while anaerobic exercise helps develop fast twitch muscle fiber, reaction time, and muscle toning. Furthermore, stretching in class is not simply a warm-up or prelude to exercise - it is part of the system. Our stretches help to lengthen muscles, increase circulation and blood flow, stimulate neural receptors, and relax both the mind and body. At the end of every class, students leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated in the knowledge that they are exercising properly - they are exercising for optimum health!
Prevention of Modern Disease
Our system is designed for prevention and healing of adult disease also known as modern disease. These degenerative diseases include diabetes, heart and circulatory problems, arthritis, osteoporosis, and obesity. Our system of training help to solve the root causes of these medical conditions. The integrated movement prevents deterioration of brain cells and allows for cognitive thinking and memory to improve. Poor lifestyle and eating habits can lead to some of these adult diseases over time. Proper training in our Martial Art coupled with a healthy diet can help the body to quickly heal itself as it adapts to a newer healthier state.

Unfortunately, stress seems to be a part of our everyday lives and most professionals agree that stress contributes to aging and health problems. Through Martial Art training, we teach students to reduce the effects of stress. Stress reduction strategies include learning to use proper exercise, particularly integrated movement requiring balance and coordination that assist nervous system development and function - a key element in reducing stress. In addition, proper breathing - both during stretching and workouts - further encourages the stress free lifestyle. Finally, through proper sustained aerobic exercise, the body releases natural chemicals that stimulate the brain and provide a feel good effect - further contributing to the reduction of stress.
Maintain Healthy Lifestyle for Children
Our training helps reinforce a healthy lifestyle that parents desire for their children. As a parent, it is often difficult to help your child achieve a healthy life balance with all of the media (tv, movies, computers) and video games that children are bombarded with on a daily basis. Through training, children get proper exercise and learn to set and achieve goals. Instructors work together with parents to establish good training habits in children both inside class and out. Also, the balanced movements found in our Martial Art work to provide children with the physical development they need to counteract the effects of today vast amount of electronic media by stimulating the central nervous system, muscular system, and skeletal system. These positive effects if nurtured throughout their childhood development, will carry on these young students as they move on in life.
